Susan Allen Ford is a prominent Jane Austen scholar, a retired English professor from Delta State University, and the editor of the Jane Austen Society's journals, Persuasions and Persuasions Online. Her expertise lies in Austen's life and works, including her use of literature within her novels, which she explores in detail in her recent book, What Jane Austen's Characters Read (and Why). Ford has been a long-time friend and supporter of the Jane Austen Society of North America (JASNA) and has frequently spoken at Austen events.
