Nikki Payne has a PhD in cultural anthropology from Rice University. By day, she’s a curious tech anthropologist, by night, she dreams of ways to subvert Canon literature. Inspired by Jane Austen, her fresh romances turn expectations on their head and deliver sharp social commentary for the hopeless romantic. Featured in People Magazine, BuzzFeed books, Oprah daily, and Elle magazine, her debut novel Pride and Protest was a Phenomenal Book Club pick and has been hailed as “incandescent” by The Washington Post. She followed that up with Sex, Lies, and Sensibility.
At the conclusion of her presentation, two free drawings will be held, one for an autographed copy of Pride and Protest and one for Sex, Lies, and Sensibility. Eligible winners must be members of JASNA Virtual Region on March 1, 2026 and must be present to win.
